Area high school students have been working hard learning the principles of saving, investing, and wealth building as part of the 100 Black Men of America’s Dollars & Sense program. Now it’s time for the Investment Challenge by the 100 Black Men of Greater Kansas City. Join us on Sunday, April 14th at the Gem Theater, KCMO:
• Five high school students will compete live before a panel of judges and a community audience to solve a financial literacy case study and demonstrate their knowledge of the principles of wealth creation. Two will win an all-expense-paid trip to represent the 100 Black Men of Greater Kansas City chapter at the 100 Black Men of America’s National Conference June 12-16, 2024, in Atlanta, GA.
• Following a six-week simulated stock market competition during which students received $100,000 virtual dollars to invest, 1st ($1,000), 2nd ($600), and 3rd ($400) place winners will be announced based on which students generated the highest return on their portfolio.
• Three financial literacy essay contest winners will be named. 1st ($1,000), 2nd ($500), and 3rd ($500) place cash prizes will be awarded.
